Rich Mind, a new company contributed K2 million for the building of an office block for Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Malawi chapter during a media body fundraising dinner and dance held at Golden Peacock Hotel, Lilongwe.
In a presentation, the company’s president and founder Otis Bushiri insisted on financial security for Misa Malawi as it is the hub for media journalists and professionals for its smooth operations. He further stressed that as Misa Malawi is a key institution in upholding self-governing values, in and beyond Malawian societies there is a great need for it to be economically stable.
Bushiri also expressed his contentment as a businessman in taking part in such a contribution that improves people’s lives in society, of importance communicating freely alluding to the fact that societal freedom is determined by its ability to express its philosophies and opinions freely. He further urged the media fraternity in Malawi to work jointly for the common objective of transforming Misa Malawi into an institution filled with resources.
Teresa Ndanga, the MISA chairperson, showed her gratitude while thanking Bushiri for his timely support at a time that their mother body cut money supply leaving them to work hard to look for a money source to build permanent offices in order to do away with expenses from renting.
